Speaking of genre-crossing musicians and clubs: Cellist Matt Haimovitz, who played a big role in opening up classical music to nontraditional venues, and pianist Christopher O’Riley, who has become known for his arrangements of songs by Radiohead, are booked to play the Regattabar on Feb. 8. While the show does not appear on the club’s website, it was confirmed by Haimovitz’s publicist at 21C Media Group.
The duo will be touring behind their recent album “Shuffle.Play.Listen.’’ (Oxingale), which ranges from works by Stravinsky and Janacek to O’Riley’s arrangements of songs by Arcade Fire, Blonde Redhead, the Cocteau Twins, and John McLaughlin.
